Hi there. The Davey's lived/worked on a farm in Stockland that I think was called Cawley's - on the census sample it states that John Davey was a farmer of 42 acres, however closer examination may be that he just worked there, rather than owned it.

Hello Lisa,
I have no info about George Davey's ancestors at all. All I have found on various censuses is that he was born in Stockland. George moved to London and was in the army there, I have not found any info on his brother or that he was a wheelwright. Please email me direct.

Would you have any info on the Davey family. Your details show that my decendant James Davey was George Davey's brother and children of Susan and John Davey of Stockland. Did George and James work together in London as Wheelwrights? Would love to learn more especially where they lived in Stockland etc.. Many thanks
