Hi, I dont know if this will be of any help to anyone, but this all is connected to my family tree.
Hannah Beer (B 1730) and John Vincent (B 1727) had a daughter named Anna Vincent (B 1768). Anna married Elias Carter (B 1763) and they had 10 children under the names of; Thomas (B 1790), Joel (B 1793), Anna (B 1796), Mary (B 1798), John (B 1801), Martha (B 1803), Elizabeth (B 1806), Sarah (B 1808), Elias (B 1810) and Robert (B 1813). I am a relation of John Carter.
Joel Carter (Johns brother) had an interesting tale with having 15 children with Mary Paver (B 1796). 3 children died at young ages (under the age of 5).
I dont know whether you could help me expand my knowledge with some more family history, but anything you have that I dont may help me build my tree :)
Thank you

Hi Steve,
Yes I have lots of info about the children (possibly 9) of Francis and Rachel Wyatt. On 1841 Francis was described as a woolcomber. Later ag lab/small -time farmer. They were in Up Ottery on 1851 and 1861 cenus but at different addresses.Francis died 1861 but Rachel went on to 87yrs. As an old women she is mentioned in the 1870 Morris Directory as a cowkeeper of Smeatharp in Upottery. Rachel was the illegitimate child of Anna Carter nee Vincent. In 1871 Rachel's son Thomas Wyatt married Sarah Hare Carter who was also a grandchild of Anna Carter but through a legitimate line.

Hi Steve,
Francis Wyatt & Rachel nee Vincent had a big family. I have 9, there were probably more - all appear born Upottery, although the first, John Vincent was baptised at Churchstanton in 1811. On the 1841 Francis wyatt was described as a woolcomber of Upottery. On later census he farmed small acrerage. He died 1861. In a 1870 Directory Rachel is described as a cowkeeper of Smeatharp, Upottery. She died 1875. Her mother amd grandfather also lived into their 80s. I am interested in Francis & Rachel's son Thomas b1826 who married his cousin Sarah Hare Carter at Wilton, nr Taunton in 1871. Thomas & Sarah had the same grandmother but Thomas descended from her illegitimate daughter, whilst Sarah descended from her legitimate son.
Where do you fit in?

Hi Bruce, Yes I agree Hannah b1768 and Samuel b1774 were brother & sister. On the 1812 will, Samuel was left a bedstead. With brothers Benjamin & James, Samuel was an executer of their father's will. Later in life Samuel b1774 was responsible for the erection of Four Elms Baptist chapel at Yarcombe. His son Samuel b1802 was one of the chapel trustees. I believe John Vincent 1727-1812 was son of Benjamin & Rachel - just because of the familiar names. As you say there were 2 Johns baptised Yarcombe 1727 so this is just a hunch. Benjamin Vincent of Yarcombe married Rachel Denman at Pitminster on 21-9-1725. Can you give details of the family of Samuel b1774 & where do you fit in.

Hannah Vincent bapt 1768 is the sister of my 4x great grandfather Samuel b1774
I understand that there is a will of John Vincent, their father, dated 1812 extant somewhere and I would love to have details as John's parentage is not known to me although I think that they were called Benjamin and Rachel as this shows in family names. However two Johns were born in Yarcombe in 1727.
Any help etc would be much appreciated
