I am looking for anyone who knew a Henry or Mary Manley who lived in Stockland, Devon from 1925 onwards (roughly) I have been told his nickname was gypsy as he was a bit of a character,well known, as he lived in a caravan for years on golden hill and then moved to Bucehayes Farm, he had about nine children, one who I think was my mother. Unfortunately he died in a fire on his farm in 1972. Anyone remember him

Hi Sally. Am still hoping to hear from you. Henry was known as gypsy Manley and I know he travelled aroung Somerset/Devon and Dorset in his caravan before settling in Stockland with his wife Mary who had eight or nine children. Hi Sally, Many thanks for e.mail. Need more info from you if at all possible. Henry, Mary and Manley are all very common names esp. around Devon. I know all names of Henry and Mary's childred. Could be one of your relatives. Roy's message that you can see on the board was a success story, he turned out to be a cousin of mine. Hope to hear from you soon with a bit more info. Hi My Grate Grate Grandad was Called Henry Manley however he was a Romani Gypsy He had lots of Children my Grate Gran was Called Mary Ann they travelled Devon and Dorset,not sure if this helps. Regards Sally
