I am the wife of William Anstis Bromfield born 16/05/1934.from Sidmouth in Devon. His mother's maiden name was Anstis, and it has been researched to be a direct descendant of Captain Anstis Garter King of Arms. Bill's father was Charles William Bromfield born 23/07/1902 (we think ) in Harcombe

I am researching our families history My wife was Gillian Bromfield daughter of Percy Bromfield and Mable Holland. Both have passed away over ten years ago. We have very little documentation of their background. There is an oral teadion that Percy had Harcombe / Stockland connections . Can you help. Anstis untill recently was a shop in the Woolbrook area of Sidmouth. A new block of flats close by is Anstis court.
