Re-reading replies, I would like to hear of any possible links, please. I notice the name Pearce - would this be connected with the web site home.utah.edu/~mm10a50/pearce/a12.htm which has lots of Trott on it? - I found it in Google. Thank you, Ivy Trott in South Africa.

Hi Cindy, I'm studying the entire population of Combe St Nicholas. I have some details on this family, including the fact that Thomas's marriage to Susan Stevens was his second marriage. In 1830 he had married Mary Hill, a cousin of mine, who died just 9 months after the marriage. Within 6 months Thomas was marrying again and this time the union was more fruitful: 6 children that I know of, the last two born in USA after the family's emigration in 1841. I belive Thomas died in Kansas, 1876.
Please feel free to contact for further discussion.
A note for Ivy Trott [see comment above]; there were many Trotts in Combe, some of whom have entered my cousins-of-cousins file.

Cindy,
I don't know if its of any interest but I have a Thomas Tutcher of 'Combe'(St. Nicholas) who married Elizabeth Pearce / Pearse (b. 1696)in Chardstock in 1723. Could this Thomas be a forebear of your Thomas? Elizabeth was the elder sister of the Charles Pearse who married Mary Carter in Stockland in 1743, who's line I am investigating, and I know that she and Thomas made their home in Combe St. Nicholas. Any connection?
Grahame.

I am interested in the Trott line in Yarcombe back to late 1500s and possibility that they link (DNA testing involved) with families in Uffculme and Seaton and Beer lines. Any Trott link-ups are of interest.
Thank you. Ivy Trott in South Africa.
