I am researching Mental Health Provision in the 1790-1840 period and have come across a reference to Ford House, Churchstanton, as having a facility "for psychiatric provision for 2 private patients" in 1822 responsibility for which was tranfeered to Somerset from Devon in 1896. Ref: 1841 census. However there were no patients listed in the 1851 census.
