Air Ambulance Night Landing Site News

Details were finalized on Wednesday 13th November 2019, for the installation of the lighting at the Victory Hall to enable Devon Air Ambulance to operate a night landing site in Stockland village.

Essentially this involves the erection of a lighting pole on the western side of the hall with connections to the hall's electrical source. This light will be operated from the Devon Air Ambulance helicopter and will only be used at such emergency times. In addition some tree clearance work will be taking place within the next few weeks. As soon as the clearance is completed it is likely that the landing site will be live.

The costings for this have been in the region of £6000 plus. This has been met with a grant of approximately half from Devon Air Ambulance plus a contribution from the Devon County Council community fund and a generous donation of £1000 from the Stockland Fair Committee. Many thanks to the Fair for this. Future running costs will be met by the Parish Council.
