Horner Hill

A line of a dozen vehicles parked along the verge at Sandpits heralded the arrival on Horner Hill yesterday of an impressive number of
conservation workers many of whom were volunteers. They came from the East Devon Countryside Service, the RSPB Exminster Marshes team as well as from the RSPB Aylesbeare team. There was only one Stockland parishioner.
A great deal was accomplished in extending the open heathland at each end, despite the rather dreary weather. You missed a great day, among a band of jolly folk!
Accessible piles of logs have been left close to roadsides, both near Kilderhayes and in Heathstock, free to parishioners for their own use.
