Did you know that many GPs ( including Axminster Medical Practice ) are using a system called eConsult as a means for patients to make contact with the practice. Here is a short video explaining how eConsult works

Parish Prescription Collection Service - a reminder
Each Thursday prescriptions are collected from Axminster surgery and delivered to the Kings Arms pub for collection or are delivered to home addresses. This reduces the footfall in the surgery and of course removes the need for you to be out.

Should you need to use this service please allow as much time as possible to notify us. The surgery requires 3 days notice to manage all the requests. Please let me know by Sunday evening of each week for the following Thursday collection. If you miss this deadline you can still be placed on the list. You will need to call the surgery and ask to be put on that week's Stockland collection.

We require:-
Address with postcode,
Phone number,
Payment info (if you've paid online or are exempt)
Whether you require delivery to home address or can collect from the pub
Whether your medication is a controlled drug (if it is then a different process is followed) or requires special storage e.g a cool bag.
Don't hesitate to call if you have any queries
Many thanks

Stockland Update

Due to our amazing team of volunteers, every household in the parish should have already, or will have in the coming days, a flyer with a dedicated volunteer's details should any of you need essential supplies delivered to your door.

Each of the 13 volunteers have a geographical area to manage and will be your point of contact should you need their help.

Prescription Service

Should you require the collection of a pre-ordered prescription from Axminster Medical Practice please email me (or 07966153870) with your Name, Date of Birth, contact number and address by Friday before the week it's needed. The surgery require 3 working days to process your medication. The prescriptions will be collected for you and dropped at the Kings Arms Pub the following Thursday morning for your collection. This is a continuous weekly service. If you are unable to collect your prescription from the pub, contact your allocated volunteer for assistance.

Please order your prescriptions online if at all possible, it would help the surgery enormously during this very over-stretched period. If you need help with registering on line please call the surgery and they will help you. With the anticipated reduction in staff at the surgery and the risks associated with paper handling, the surgery need to move everyone on to this system as soon as possible.

If you use Mortons, let me know and we will set up a different system. If you could change to the medical practice service it would help enormously as it reduces unnecessary footfall into the town and minimises staff exposure to paper handling.

Please could you make anyone not on the tree aware of this system, it's available to all. Please do not feel isolated. We are all here to help.

Thank you to all of you that have volunteered your valuable services. It is hugely appreciated.

Stay at Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.

Request for Stockland Volunteers

The objective of this group is to monitor and support all those within our village community who are self isolating and unable to leave their home.

Thank you to those who have already offered their services with leafletting their immediate neighbours and offering to pick up supplies for those who are self isolating. I'll be emailing you all with instructions soon. We are still allowed to carry out this function with the PM’s recent lockdown instruction.

Please could anyone else who is happy to take this on, please email me at with their home location as soon as possible.

Additionally if anyone is already self isolating, please let me know so we can maintain contact with you and assist as necessary.

Once a list of volunteers has been collated their geographic location will be mapped in order to plot out responsibility areas. (The idea is that each volunteer doesn't have too much of a distance to manage. )

We have been monitoring the national mutual aid groups for good practice and standardised procedure in particular reference to money and grocery handling to ensure the transaction is as easy and safe as possible. These procedures will be shared with each volunteer and will also be placed on the ’Stockland Community’ facebook page that Claire and I have set up. Please if you are on facebook, do join the group It was originally set up as a village notice board but can also be used during this challenging time as an additional support network and information sharing portal. We are all in this together so any additional research and information gathering and sharing from anyone would be very useful.

For those not on email or facebook, posters will also be placed in key locations around the village explaining what we are doing.
Any queries, please email me on the address above.
Many thanks
